Global Communication




Globalcommunication, also known as international communication, is a meansof exchanging information that involves the collective processes thatare established and used to generate and improve interaction on theglobal level (Keillor, 2007). The expansion of internationalcommunication increased at an extremely high rate during the 21stcentury.This was because of the introduction of the internet in the globalmarket, which made communication cheaper compared to the telephonesystem that had been in use. There are several positive effectsproduced by global communication in the world today.

Thereare several positive effects produced by global communication intoday’s world. First, it has helped companies to improve on theirquality of products that they produce due to the increased globalcompetition (Kamalipour, 2007). This is because the local companiesin a country are now competing with the foreign companies to offerthe same goods and services. This competition is facilitated by thepresence of the internet, which enables global communication.Therefore, they are forced to raise and improve their standards to beable to satisfy their customers in order to remain relevant in themarket. Secondly, global communication has helped create employmentworldwide (Keillor, 2007). It is evident by how some countries thatdo not have the capital to establish businesses have opened doors forforeign companies to venture and develop markets in their countries,therefore, creating jobs for the local people. Global communicationhas helped in the spread of technical knowhow most developmentsstart in the western countries, however, with the increase, andavailability of knowledge in the World Wide Web, the developingcountries are able to obtain this information. Therefore, they areable to learn new ideas that have been developed by the westerncountries (Kamalipour, 2007). For example, medical information foundquickly by the Asian countries that most of its people use, trickleddown to African countries through the platform of globalcommunication.

Globalcommunication has made it easy for people to obtain education(Heimann, 2010). This is because there are different educationalprograms that a person can do online without having to live theircountry or even home and still obtain the best form of education fromrecognized institutions. It is also clear that global communicationhas helped people develop in terms of culture. This is because muchinformation is available on the internet that has aided people inobserving what they are doing and comparing it with others globally(Keillor, 2007). It has made them to adjust to new cultures to betterwhat they were doing. For example, foreign languages, cooking methodsand acting styles can all be learned through global communication.

Globalcommunication has made long distance communication fast, efficientand reliable. This is because people can communicate with each whileat different parts of the world. Such communications happen throughplatforms such as Facebook, twitter, and emailing services (Heimann,2010). In addition, a person can get immediate feedbacks from theother end unlike the days of using post office to send and receiveletters. Lastly, the global communication has helped countries todeal with criminals that try to hide in foreign countries through theestablishment of international courts. In addition, differentcountries’ police and security systems have been able to cometogether to help in dealing with and restricting global terrorism(Candice et al., 2009).

Fromthe above analysis, it is clear that global communication has broughtnumerous changes to the communication sector that are beneficialworldwide. It has enabled fair competition, which has led toproduction of quality goods and services (Keillor, 2007). It has madestudents access foreign education with ease from their countries. Ithas also helped the governments to deal with criminals who try toavoid justice. In addition, global communication has enabled thedissemination and spread of information across the world. Informationcan now be shared quickly and efficiently.
